I'm worried.

Long time ago I thought I had a friend. He was my student many years ago – intelligent, witty, ambitious, funny. I kept my fingers crossed for everything he did, everything he craved for. I was happy for him when his dreams started to come true. We didn’t talk much, I didn’t mean to poke my nose into his life, but we kept in touch � exchanging e-mails, rare text messages, from time to time talking via the Internet. Suddenly, my friend decided to put an end to all of these things. I haven’t heard from this person for almost a year, which makes me extremely upset and worried. I tried and tried to contact � him, but all my efforts were in vain. Did I do anything wrong? What could�drive him�to remain silent? Something terrible must have happened, because he doesn’t speak to his friends at all. Is there so much pain and sadness in his heart that drives this person to denial of any relatinship he had before? What could cause this unexpected change in his mind? I talked to one of his best friends and he confessed he hadn't had any single message from him for a very long time.�My friend�seems to have cut off from every person who cared about him. He doesn’t even play in his former band (and I know music was one of the greatest loves of his life). And this worries me the most.

I respect his decisions. I gave up trying to make him talk to me if he doesn’t want to. But still it hurts. I wish I could understand him, but he gave me no chance to do it.
